Sanmenxia (China)
The city of Sanmenxia has a population of 2.13 million, lying on the western edge of Henan Province, on the banks of the Yellow River. Sanmenxia is the only town where swans live at large on the Yellow River. To the east it borders with Luoyang, to the south with the Funio Mountain and to the west with Xian, the ancient capital of China. Sanmenxia serves as an economic and gultural centre of the region.
Sanmenxia and its surrounding area offer delightful scenery with a perfect harmony of ancient and modern culture and many historic and cultural attractions for tourists. The „Yelllow River Tour” is one of the 14 officially ranked tourist destinations recommended by the National Tourism Office of the country. The annual Yellow River Festival is one of the most outstanding events of the city and the province.
